Islamabad: Federal Ombudsman Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi announced that an International Symposium on Ombudsmanship and Citizens’ Rights will soon take place in Islamabad, under the auspices of the Asian Ombudsman Association.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, during a news conference, Qureshi detailed that the symposium will gather heads of Ombudsman Institutions from across Asia and the Islamic world, alongside representatives from other regional and international organizations. The event aims to highlight the role of the Ombudsman in Pakistan and enhance the country’s global standing. Qureshi also noted the significant impact of the Federal Ombudsman’s office, which aids roughly two hundred thousand citizens annually with complaints ranging from utility bills to broader administrative issues. Furthermore, he emphasized that the digitization of Ombudsman services has substantially improved their efficiency and accessibility, particularly to remote areas of Pakistan.
