Islamabad to Host 45th Annual Forum of Parliamentarians for Global Action


Islamabad: The National Assembly of Pakistan will host the 45th Annual Forum of Parliamentarians for Global Action (PGA) and the 13th Session of the Consultative Assembly of Parliamentarians (CAP-ICC) on October 28 and 29, 2024. The event, set to take place at the Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services, aims to tackle issues like global peace, climate change, and the promotion of democratic values among others. The meeting will gather parliamentarians from 39 countries, along with international jurists, intellectuals, and media personnel.



According to National Assembly of Pakistan, the conference will begin with an opening ceremony on October 28, where Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq will serve as the chief guest. The ceremony is scheduled to be broadcast live, with notable speeches expected from PGA President Syed Naveed Qamar and Senator Sherry Rehman, the PGA President of Pakistan. The two-day meeting will also feature seven side sessions discussing various global issues and the role of parliaments in promoting peace and justice.



The conference highlights Pakistan’s commitment to parliamentary diplomacy and underscores its identity as a peaceful and democratic state. The extensive preparations and the broad international participation underscore the country’s status as a safe and progressive nation committed to advancing global justice and human rights.
