Islamabad Swears in New MNA, Extends Cannabis Control Ordinance

Islamabad, In a session held today, newly elected National Assembly Member Mubarak Zeb Khan took his oath of office, administered by Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the National Assembly also moved to extend “The Cannabis Control and Regulatory Authority Ordinance, 2024” for an additional 120 days, effective from the middle of next month. The extension was secured through a resolution proposed by Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada. In the same session, it was announced that the accreditation examination for doctors with degrees from foreign institutions will now be held biannually, in June and December.

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council has revised the examination format, lowering the passing threshold from 70 percent to 60 percent. Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Azam Nazeer Tarar emphasized that such accreditation tests are vital for ensuring the competence of medical professionals handling precious human lives.
