Islamabad: At a key event held today, Romina Khurshid Alam, the Prime Minister’s Coordinator on Climate Change, emphasized the critical importance of empowering disaster-vulnerable communities with necessary resources and skills to enhance resilience and ensure sustainable livelihoods post-disaster.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Alam highlighted that building resilience not only in communities but also in infrastructure and ecosystems is interconnected and essential for creating a more sustainable and adaptive environment. She pointed out that equipping individuals within these communities with essential skills and resources can significantly improve their ability to respond to and recover from calamities.
The discussion underscored the need for an integrated approach to resilience, suggesting that enhancing capabilities in one area positively affects all others, thereby fostering a more resilient society capable of facing future challenges effectively.
