According to Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan have issued special messages emphasizing the country’s unwavering moral, diplomatic, and political support for the Kashmir cause. The Foreign Minister has reached out to international leaders and organizations through letters, urging them to address the human rights situation in IIOJK and to advocate for the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions that call for a plebiscite to determine the future of Jammu and Kashmir.

In the lead-up to Kashmir Solidarity Day, Islamabad-based diplomats were briefed on the current conditions in IIOJK. Additionally, a ‘Solidarity Day Walk’ took place on Constitution Avenue, led by government ministers and attended by ministry officials, school children, and citizens, to express solidarity with the Kashmiri people.

The observance also includes seminars, webinars, panel discussions, and photo exhibitions, both in Pakistan and abroad, to highlight human rights abuses in IIOJK and the consequences of India’s policies aimed at marginalizing Kashmiris in their homeland.

Muzaffarabad, At a special session of the Azad Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Kashmiri struggle for self-determination, in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. The session, held in Muzaffarabad, emphasized Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue and condemned India’s actions in the region.

According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prime Minister Kakar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to extending diplomatic, moral, and political support for the peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute. In his address, he highlighted that India cannot unilaterally impose a solution on Kashmir, a region that has remained a central point in Pakistan’s foreign policy. The Prime Minister read out messages from the President, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, all underscoring support for the Kashmiri cause.

The Prime Minister criticized India’s unilateral and illegal actions, particularly the revocation of Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019. He urged India to respect its promises made before the UN Security Council and to the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He accused the Indian leadership of using tactics to consolidate its occupation, citing the violence and force against Kashmiris by the BJP-RSS alliance under the ideology of Hindutva.

Highlighting the human rights violations in IIOJK, Kakar mentioned the media blackout, incarcerations, property confiscations, cultural onslaught, arrests, torture, and extrajudicial killings, stating that Indian forces are acting with impunity under draconian laws. He emphasized the scale of the tragedy in Kashmir, with over 96,000 lives lost in the last 35 years, including harassment of women and use of pellet guns against civilians.

The Prime Minister called for international accountability for the atrocities in Kashmir and criticized India’s attempts to link the Kashmiri struggle with terrorism. He described state-sponsored terrorism by India in IIOJK as the most dreadful aspect of this issue.

Kakar also addressed India’s claims over Gilgit Baltistan and Azad Kashmir, reaffirming Pakistan’s belief in peaceful coexistence and readiness to respond to any aggression. He challenged India’s democratic claims, urging it to give Kashmiris the right to decide their future, stop human rights violations, free political prisoners, suspend emergency laws, recall troops, and avoid changing the demographic structure of the territory.

The Prime Minister concluded by reiterating Pakistan’s commitment to support the Kashmiri people until their struggle reaches its logical conclusion, emphasizing the need for India to comply with international laws, UN resolutions, human rights agreements, and the Fourth Geneva Convention.
