According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the Prime Minister detailed the challenges faced by Pakistan, including efforts to destabilize the nation through funded terrorism in Balochistan. He discussed the recent assessments made during his visit to Quetta, where he was briefed on the regional security issues and ongoing initiatives to counteract these threats.
During the meeting, Sharif affirmed the government’s commitment to bolstering economic stability, referencing Moody’s positive forecast for Pakistan’s economic outlook. He also lauded China’s partnership through the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which he credited with significant contributions to Pakistan’s development trajectory.
The Prime Minister underscored the ongoing pursuit of terrorists by the armed forces, supported by federal measures to enhance the operational capacity of local law enforcement, including the Levies force. He also engaged with families of terrorism victims, noting their resilient spirit and the broader community’s morale.
Further, Sharif announced upcoming policies aimed at economic revival over the next five years, focusing on export growth, agricultural advancement, industrial development, and vocational training for youth. These plans include significant investments in Balochistan, such as converting agricultural tube wells to solar power, with an allocation of fifty-five billion rupees.
The Prime Minister concluded by asserting that the federal government would continue to implement strategies proposed by provincial leaders to ensure nationwide progress and security.
