Islamabad Prayer Session Honors Kashmiri Leaders and Martyrs


Islamabad, A special prayer session organized by the APHC-AJK in Islamabad commemorated the anniversaries of former Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Mir Waiz Maulana Mohammad Yousuf Shah and human rights advocate Jalil Andrabi. The event paid homage to their contributions and sacrifices for the Kashmiri cause.



According to Kashmir Media Service, the session, led by Convener Mahmood Ahmed Saghar, celebrated Mir Waiz Mohammad Yousuf Shah’s significant contribution to the Kashmiri language through his translation of the Quran. It also highlighted the enduring quest for justice for Advocate Jalil Andrabi, who was arrested and killed 28 years ago, underscoring the continuous fight for human rights in the region.



Participants also remembered other Kashmiri martyrs, such as Ashfaq Majeed Wani, Dr. Abdul Ahad Gooru, and Bashir Siddiqui, acknowledging their roles in the struggle for Kashmir’s freedom. The gathering was attended by notable figures including Ghulam Mohammad Safi, Syed Yusuf Nasim, and Altaf Hussain Wani, among others, who together reaffirmed their dedication to the memory of those who have laid down their lives for Kashmir.



The event underscored the Kashmiri community’s unwavering commitment to seeking justice and freedom for the occupied territories, highlighting the collective resolve to continue the legacy of its leaders and martyrs.
