Islamabad, In a move to ensure the provision of affordable electricity to consumers, Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, the Minister for Power, has mandated the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) to complete the electricity transmission line projects within their scheduled timelines.
According to Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the directive came as the Minister met with the Chairman of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), Lieutenant General (Retired) Sajjad Ghani, in Islamabad on Tuesday. Minister Leghari’s instructions were unequivocal: delays in project completions would not be tolerated, and there would be strict consequences for officials responsible for any such delays.
The meeting also facilitated a comprehensive dialogue on the rapid completion of WAPDA’s ongoing construction projects. Furthermore, Chairman Ghani offered WAPDA’s technical assistance to NTDC, highlighting the collaborative spirit between the two entities. This initiative is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance the efficiency of the power sector and reduce the financial burden on consumers.
