ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to combat crime, Islamabad Police have apprehended 22 individuals suspected of various criminal activities. The arrests, carried out by multiple police precincts including Secretariat, Shalimar, Sumbal, Sangjani, Shamas Colony, Khana, Humak, and Phulgran, led to the seizure of a significant cache of drugs and weapons.
The police operation resulted in the recovery of 4,835 grams of heroin, 230 grams of Ice, five bottles of liquor, four pistols, a rifle with ammunition, and a dagger. Cases have been filed against the individuals arrested, and investigations are ongoing to determine their involvement in the crimes.
In addition to these arrests, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders culminated in the detention of six more individuals. This initiative underscores the police’s commitment to maintaining peace and order in the capital.
Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has emphasized the importance of these operations in preserving the tranquility of the city. Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Islamabad Muhammad Shoaib Khan reiterated that the safety of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority for law enforcement.
The police have also called for public cooperation, urging residents to report suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline, Pucar-15. This collaborative effort aims to create a safer environment in the federal capital.
