ISLAMABAD, Islamabad capital police from the Sangjani police station and Homicide Unit have successfully traced a previously unsolved homicide, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, including two women, according to the department’s public relations officer.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the case began to unfold on October 29, 2023, when the Sangjani police were alerted to the discovery of a deceased male in the Sarai Kharbuza green area within their jurisdiction. The police quickly registered the case under FIR no. 760, invoking Section 302/34 of the penal code, which pertains to murder and criminal intent.
In response to the grim finding, a special investigation team was assembled to tackle the case. Employing both technical and scientific methods, the police were able to identify and apprehend four suspects: Azaz Khan, Sadam, Nasreen Bibi, and Bakhat Begum. As the investigation proceeds, the police have not disclosed the specifics of how these individuals were linked to the crime.
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), has issued directives to his senior staff to ramp up efforts in cracking down on criminal activity to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens. He stressed that the police have a zero-tolerance policy towards violence and that stringent legal action will be pursued against those involved in such offenses.
Dr. Khan commended the police teams for their diligent performance in resolving the homicide and emphasized the imperative of maintaining the safety and security of citizens, which is deemed the utmost priority. There will be no tolerance for laxity in matters of public security, he declared.
