Islamabad Police Launch Special Squads to Combat Red Signal Violations

Islamabad: In a renewed effort to enforce traffic laws, Islamabad Police announced the formation of special squads tasked with taking strict action against red signal violators. This initiative, as per directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aims to instill a disciplined traffic system within the capital city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the decision to bolster enforcement measures comes as part of a broader campaign to ensure compliance with traffic regulations. Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad, Muhammad Sarfraz Virk, has instructed police personnel to apply traffic rules uniformly, regardless of an individual’s status or rank, and to maintain a courteous demeanor while issuing traffic violation tickets.

The special squads are currently operational, monitoring major roads and boulevards, and have been actively penalizing those who fail to adhere to traffic signals. This enforcement drive is supported by various awareness initiatives, including education on traffic laws provided by the police’s education wing and special programming broadcast by Islamabad Police FM Radio 92.4.

The overarching goal of these intensified efforts is not to punish but to promote a safer road environment for all citizens of Islamabad, ultimately protecting lives and enhancing public safety through compliance with traffic laws.
