Islamabad, Islamabad Capital Police have issued 53,929 fine tickets for vehicles and bikes with fancy or non-pattern number plates during the ongoing year.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the Islamabad Capital Police intensified their campaign against vehicles with non-compliant number plates. The campaign also targeted vendors involved in producing such number plates, as stated by a police public relations officer.
The officer revealed that the police have been actively pursuing vehicles and bikes that violate traffic rules by using fancy or non-pattern number plates, resulting in a significant number of fines. The campaign aims to enhance security, maintain law and order, and protect the lives and properties of citizens in Islamabad.
The Islamabad Capital Police urged motorists to use official number plates issued by the Excise and Taxation Office and to carry proper driving licenses and vehicle documents. Special squads have been formed to address the use of unauthorized number plates, and citizens are encouraged to cooperate with the police in this regard.
The campaign has seen all zonal DSPs directed to step up efforts for its success, with ongoing actions against non-pattern number plate vehicles until full compliance with the law is achieved.
