Islamabad Police Issue Over 16,000 Fines to Ease Traffic Congestion

Islamabad: In a significant move to manage road traffic, Islamabad Police have issued more than 16,000 fine tickets for traffic violations such as hampering traffic flow and overloading. These measures are part of a broader initiative to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement and enhance road safety in the capital.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the directive was a response to instructions from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who emphasized the need for a safe and convenient road environment. Under his guidance, the department has deployed special enforcement squads specifically during rush hours to monitor and implement traffic laws effectively.

Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk has further instructed officials to position these squads at critical points like the Islamabad Expressway, Karnal Sher Khan Shaheed road, and Srinagar Highway. These efforts aim to maintain traffic discipline and address issues that disrupt the flow of traffic. The police are committed to acting against violations impartially to ensure that the city’s roads remain clear and safe for all users.
