Islamabad, The Islamabad Capital Police has launched a fully operational digital license management system (DLMS) aimed at improving the enforcement of traffic laws and capturing wanted individuals.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the new DLMS has already shown results by identifying a court absconder and a wanted criminal, as well as facilitating the collection of payments for over 1,000 traffic violations. This system integrates data on criminals and traffic violators, enhancing the capacity of the police to enforce the law effectively.
With the implementation of the DLMS, as many as 634 violators have visited traffic offices and settled their 1,889 challans. The system has also assisted in the arrest of two individuals, one of whom was a wanted criminal and the other a court absconder, leading to the initiation of legal procedures against them.
The DLMS is part of a broader initiative by the Islamabad Capital Police, under the direction of the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, to modernize and digitize police work. Non-compliant violators will face legal consequences and will be barred from services provided at the Police Khidmat Markaz, including driving license services.
In addition to the DLMS, the Islamabad Capital Police are utilizing Brief Cam alerts and Safe City cameras to trace the vehicles of violators, ensuring that legal requirements are met. Citizens can check outstanding challans on the Islamabad Capital Police official website or through the provided link.
Payments for challans can be made via Jazz Cash, mobile apps, or JS Bank wallets, with the police emphasizing that non-payment will result in strict legal actions.
