Islamabad Police Intensify Security for Eid-ul-Adha Festivities


ISLAMABAD: In preparation for Eid-ul-Adha, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad, Muhammad Javad Tariq, has ordered comprehensive security measures to ensure safety and prevent crime in the capital city.



A high-level meeting chaired by DIG Tariq included senior police officials, such as SSP Operations Muhammad Shoaib Khan and representatives from various security units. The meeting focused on strengthening security protocols, particularly in commercial centers and during the chand raat celebrations.



The DIG emphasized the necessity of intensified patrolling through both foot and vehicular means. He directed that strict checks at city entry and exit points be implemented to enhance security.



Additionally, officials were instructed to target aerial firing, hooliganism, and one-wheeling with a rigorous crackdown. Special units like Dolphin, Ababeel, and Emergency Response teams were tasked with ramping up their patrols across Islamabad.



Efforts are also being made to maintain smooth traffic flow around cattle markets and deploy police squads in public parks and recreational areas. The DIG reiterated that the safety and convenience of citizens remain a top priority, urging officers to closely monitor their teams and encourage diligence.



Finally, DIG Tariq underlined the importance of police welfare during the holiday, asserting that the protection of lives and property in Islamabad is paramount.
