Islamabad Police Intensify Crackdown on One-Way Traffic Violations, Issue Over 4,000 Challans

Islamabad, In an escalated effort to enhance road safety and discipline, the Islamabad Capital Police have significantly ramped up actions against one-way traffic rule violators across the city, resulting in the issuance of 4,110 challan tickets so far this year. This initiative aligns with a broader campaign to ensure the safety of citizens and adherence to traffic regulations.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the increased enforcement comes under the directives of Capital City Police Officer Islamabad, Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. Special squads have been deployed across all major highways of the city, including the Expressway, Srinagar Highway, Margalla Road, Murree Road, 7th Avenue, and 9th Avenue, to monitor and penalize violations effectively. These measures are part of a concerted effort to reduce traffic-related incidents and promote a culture of compliance with road safety norms.

The drive also includes an educational component, with special awareness campaigns about the dangers and penalties associated with one-way and other traffic violations. These campaigns are being disseminated through various channels, including radio broadcasts on FM 92.4, to raise public consciousness about the importance of following traffic laws for the collective safety and well-being of the community.

Violators caught disregarding one-way traffic rules face not only fines but also potential prosecution, underscoring the seriousness with which the authorities are treating such infractions. The Islamabad Capital Police have also called upon citizens to observe traffic regulations, particularly one-way rules, to protect both their lives and those of others.

This stringent enforcement initiative reflects the Islamabad Capital Police’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property by preventing traffic violations and enhancing road safety across the capital.
