Islamabad, In a move to bolster security within the federal capital, the Islamabad Capital Police has ramped up efforts through its “Knock the Door” campaign, aimed at the systematic registration of tenants and domestic workers. The initiative, driven by the directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, sees police teams conducting door-to-door visits across the city, focusing not only on registration but also on addressing citizen concerns.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the campaign is part of a broader strategy to enhance law and order in Islamabad. The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Islamabad has already documented data from 313 house servants residing in 761 households within the areas covered by the Khanna and Bani Gala Police Stations. This effort underscores the police’s commitment to preventing crime and ensuring the safety of Islamabad’s residents by closely monitoring individuals who may pose a security risk.
The campaign’s primary objective is to mitigate potential security threats by keeping track of the city’s temporary and permanent residents. This system of registration is designed not only to deter miscreants but also to preemptively identify and curtail suspicious activities that could disrupt the peace and security of the community.
Citizens are encouraged to participate actively in this campaign by verifying the identity of any individual visiting their homes for data collection, especially if they are in civilian attire. This precautionary measure aims to prevent unregistered tenants and domestic workers from engaging in criminal activities such as theft and robbery under the guise of ordinary citizens.
The Islamabad Capital Police urges the public to cooperate with law enforcement personnel during this campaign, highlighting the collective responsibility of the community and the police in maintaining a secure living environment. The initiative reflects the police’s dedication to utilizing all available resources to ensure the safety and security of Islamabad’s citizens.
