ISLAMABAD: Over 486 individuals were checked during recent citywide search operations in the federal capital, as the Islamabad Police intensifies efforts to curb crime and crackdown on criminal activities. The operations followed special directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and were aimed at enhancing security across the city.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the search and combing operations were conducted under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza, with respective zonal SPs monitoring the activities. The operations involved thorough checks of 191 households, 28 hotels, 35 shops, 216 motorcycles, and 52 vehicles.
During the operations, four proclaimed offenders and absconders, 59 suspicious individuals, as well as one vehicle and 16 motorcycles, were taken to the police station for further verification. Accusations related to drug trafficking led to several arrests, and police teams recovered 1650 grams of Ice, 1260 grams of heroin, and 120 bottles of liquor.
SSP Operations Islamabad emphasized that the objective of these operations is to tighten the noose around criminal elements and enhance security across the city. He added that such operations are being conducted in different areas throughout the district, with ongoing indiscriminate action against criminal elements, land grabbers, and drug dealers.
