Islamabad: In a concerted effort to enhance public safety and curb criminal activity, the Islamabad Police launched extensive search and combing operations across multiple areas under its jurisdiction. The initiative, conducted under the directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, targeted regions within the Industrial Area, Bani Gala, and Secretariat police stations.
During the operation, police officials checked a total of 171 individuals, along with 88 houses, 15 shops, 108 motorcycles, and 52 vehicles. As part of the measures, 15 individuals deemed suspicious were detained for further verification. Additionally, two suspects were arrested and narcotics were seized from their possession.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq emphasized that these operations aim to tighten security across the city and reduce the prevalence of criminal elements. He noted that the operations reflect an ongoing commitment to address anti-social activities, including action against criminals, land mafias, and drug dealers.
The DIG also called on citizens to support the police’s efforts by reporting any suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.” The operations underscore the Islamabad Police’s dedication to maintaining law and order in the federal capital.
