Islamabad Police Intensifies Crackdown with Search Operation in Shams Colony


ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have launched an extensive search operation across Shams Colony, with the aim of curbing criminal activities and bolstering public safety. This operation, conducted under the jurisdiction of the Shams Colony Police Station, is part of a broader crackdown strategy in the federal capital.



The directive for this operation came from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The initiative seeks to target criminal elements and anti-social activities, ensuring a safer environment for residents.



In the course of the operation, the police checked 127 individuals, 64 houses, and 16 motorcycles. Among those inspected, 15 individuals were detained for further verification due to suspicious behavior.



Deputy Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, emphasized the operation’s objective to intensify efforts against criminal elements and improve security in the city. He indicated that similar operations are underway in other sectors of the district.



DIG Tariq reiterated the police’s commitment to taking indiscriminate action against criminals, including land mafias and drug dealers. He appealed to citizens for their cooperation, urging them to report any suspicious activity promptly to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.”
