ISLAMABAD: In an effort to swiftly address citizen grievances, the Islamabad Police have implemented open court sessions led by high-ranking officials, including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Ali Waseem and Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations Qazi Ali Raza, aimed at ensuring the prompt resolution of complaints.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, this initiative follows directives from Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Captain (Retd) Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry. The open courts are part of a broader strategy to provide timely relief to citizens by allowing them direct access to police officials. During these sessions, citizens have the opportunity to present their issues, which are then addressed by directing officers to take necessary legal actions within specified time frames.
DIG Ali Waseem emphasized that resolving citizen complaints on merit is a priority for the Islamabad Police. He encouraged residents to approach open courts without reservations, highlighting the availability of the IGP Complaint Cell 1715 for registering issues. SSP Qazi Ali Raza reiterated the force’s commitment to a zero-tolerance policy against violence, particularly against women and children, and underscored the importance of upholding the rule of law and ensuring equal treatment for all citizens.
The initiative’s objective is to facilitate citizen engagement and problem-solving at the community level, with open courts being conducted across various zones in the district by senior police officers and zonal SPs. The Islamabad Police continue to prioritize the protection of citizens’ lives, property, and dignity through these outreach efforts.
