Islamabad: In preparation for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, Islamabad’s law enforcement agencies have ramped up security measures to ensure the safety of all delegates and the smooth conduct of the event. The city’s police force, led by Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has outlined a comprehensive security strategy, deploying advanced surveillance and patrol units throughout the capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, “IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi presided over a high-level meeting with senior police officials, including DIGs Syed Ali Raza, Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer, and Jawad Tariq, to finalize the security arrangements.” The police chief received detailed briefings on the deployment plans and stressed the importance of using modern technology integrated within the Safe City Islamabad systems to enhance security at the summit.
The security protocol includes extensive search and combing operations in areas surrounding the Red Zone, stringent monitoring at all entry and exit points of the high-security zone, and the closure of major roads during the movement of delegations. Islamabad Traffic Police have also developed a special traffic plan to minimize inconvenience to the public by providing alternative routes during the summit days.
IG Rizvi assured the public and international guests of foolproof security, committing to use all available resources to uphold the country’s dignity and honor during this significant international event.
