Islamabad Police Hosts Four-Day Road Safety Workshop for Government Drivers

Islamabad: In a proactive initiative aimed at enhancing road safety, the Islamabad Police education wing recently held a four-day workshop focused on improving driving practices among government institution drivers. The sessions, which were attended by 250 drivers and other staff members, covered a range of critical topics including the hazards of mobile phone use while driving, the importance of seatbelt usage, and adherence to traffic laws.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the workshop was conducted under the guidance of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The educational sessions, led by SSP Traffic Islamabad Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and other members of the police education wing, addressed several crucial aspects of road safety. These included the risks associated with speeding, the importance of using helmets on motorcycles, and respect for pedestrian rights at zebra crossings.

Participants received comprehensive training on the correct use of vehicle headlights and the dangers of distracted driving. The initiative was lauded by organization members for its significant role in promoting road safety awareness among drivers, who are often on the front lines of traffic management.

SSP Traffic highlighted during the event that informing drivers about road safety and ensuring compliance with traffic rules is a key duty of the Islamabad Police. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to the protection of life and property, emphasizing that such educational efforts are a central aspect of their professional responsibilities.
