Karachi, In a solemn ceremony held at the Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad, the funeral prayers for Head Constable Muhammad Ashraf of the Islamabad Capital Police and his son were offered with great honor and respect. The service was marked by tributes from fellow officers, administration, and citizens, paying homage to their bravery and sacrifice.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the ceremony was attended by the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, senior police officials, officers from various law enforcement departments, and a large gathering of police personnel and citizens. A smart contingent of the police force presented a guard of honor to the martyrs, and flower wreaths were draped over the coffins by ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan and other senior officials. The mortal remains of the father and son were then transported to their ancestral village in Bhawana, district Chiniot.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan met with the bereaved families, offering deep condolences on behalf of the entire police department. He recited fatiha for the departed souls, acknowledging their valorous sacrifice in safeguarding the lives and property of the citizens.
Head Constable Muhammad Ashraf and his son lost their lives while trying to apprehend two motorcyclists committing a robbery near the Ramna police station. During the attempt, the accused opened fire, critically injuring both Ashraf and his son, who later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
Following the incident, senior police officers and personnel promptly responded, launching a search operation to capture the perpetrators. ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan took immediate notice and issued directives for the swift arrest of those responsible, reaffirming the commitment to bring the culprits to justice.
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan emphasized the police force’s resolve and unity in facing such challenges, stating that such cowardly acts would not deter their dedication to duty. The incident highlights the risks law enforcement officers face in their line of duty and their unwavering commitment to protecting society.
