Islamabad Police Extend Service Hours, Crack Down On Unlicensed Drivers

Islamabad: Islamabad police are implementing extended service hours for licensing and other services, coupled with a strict crackdown on unlicensed drivers starting October 1st, following a late-night meeting chaired by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

The meeting, attended by senior police officials including the DIG Islamabad, focused on enhancing public service delivery. The IGP directed officers to expedite license issuance and improve public facilities.

The traffic police office at Faizabad will now operate around the clock, joining the Khidmat Markaz in F-6. Khidmat Markaz operating hours have been extended to 9 PM, with additional service counters being added.

Traffic services will soon be available at all police stations, while driving licenses can now be obtained from 11 Police Khidmat Markaz locations. These measures aim to simplify license acquisition for citizens.

The Islamabad police emphasized the importance of obtaining licenses before the October 1st deadline. Driving without a license after this date will lead to FIR registration, arrest, and vehicle seizure. The traffic police are actively conducting public awareness campaigns.

The IGP reiterated the Islamabad Police’s commitment to maintaining law and order, crime prevention, and providing comprehensive citizen services.
