Islamabad Police Detain 16 Outlaws; Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: In a significant crackdown on crime, the Islamabad police detained 16 individuals and confiscated a variety of drugs and weapons over the past 24 hours. This operation is part of an intensified effort by the local law enforcement to eradicate criminal activities from the city, under the direct instructions of the Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, teams from different police stations conducted targeted raids. The Aabpara police team apprehended two suspects, Muhammad Kashif and Mujahid, finding 590 grams of hashish and an iron punch on them. In another incident, the Karachi Company police arrested Ashraf Masih, seizing a 30 bore pistol. Further operations by the Golra, Industrial Area, Noon, Phulgran, and Bhara Kahu police teams led to more arrests and recoveries, including handguns and 230 grams of heroin. Muhammad Asif was arrested for illegally refilling gas cylinders.

The operation also targeted proclaimed offenders and absconders, resulting in eight additional detentions across various areas of the city. Islamabad’s Deputy Inspector General of Police, Syed Ali Raza, has instructed police officials to escalate the efforts against criminals, emphasizing that the safety and security of citizens are paramount and urging no leniency.

The police have encouraged citizens to collaborate by reporting any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app for prompt police response.
