Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Police, acting on special directives from Inspector General Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, have arrested 14 individuals in a sweeping operation against criminal activities within the city. The arrests, made across various districts in the past 24 hours, also led to the seizure of a significant quantity of drugs and multiple firearms.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the crackdown was part of intensified efforts to rid the city of criminal elements and ensure public safety. Among the arrested, Javed Khan was apprehended by the Shalimar police with 75 grams of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice. The Tarnol police arrested three individuals Imran, Habib, and Noor Rahim recovering three pistols from their possession.
Other significant seizures included 220 grams of hashish and a 30 bore pistol recovered by the Sangjani and Sabzi Mandi police teams respectively. The Khanna police team arrested Hamza Khan and Muhammad Nawaz, from whom they confiscated 609 grams of heroin and a firearm. Additionally, the Humak police detained Muhammad Hanif and Bilal with 246 grams of heroin.
The police have registered cases against all detained individuals, and investigations are ongoing. The operation also targeted proclaimed offenders and absconders, leading to four more arrests.
DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza has urged the police force to continue their vigilance and intensify efforts against criminals. He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to citizen safety and urged the public to assist by reporting suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app.
