Islamabad, In a significant sweep against criminal activities, the Islamabad Capital Police have detained 12 individuals, including four professional beggars, and confiscated drugs and weapons across the city. This operation, carried out over the past 24 hours, is part of an intensified campaign to eradicate crime in the capital.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests and seizures are a direct response to orders from Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, the Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO). These orders were issued to amplify efforts in combating criminal activities and to enhance public safety.
The Bani Gala police team arrested Abdul Basit, Muhammad Hamad, and Fahad, recovering three 30 bore pistols with ammunition. Separately, the Secretariat police team apprehended Shahzaib for the illegal sale of petrol. In addition, the Lohi Bher police team seized 1015 grams of hashish from Asif, while the Bhara Kahu team confiscated an iron punch from Haris.
The Abpara police team’s efforts led to the arrest of Shanial, along with the discovery of 320 grams of heroin. The operation also included a targeted crackdown on professional begging, resulting in the detention of four individuals in various parts of the city.
Cases have been registered against all the accused, with further investigations underway. ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has urged police officials to further intensify their efforts against criminal elements, stressing that the safety and security of the citizens are a top priority and that no compromise will be made in this regard.
