Islamabad: In a major security sweep conducted by the Islamabad Police, 113 individuals were detained for verification during a grand search and combing operation across various areas under the jurisdiction of the Tarnol police station. The operation involved comprehensive checks of 550 individuals, 400 houses, hotels, and 114 vehicles and motorbikes.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was overseen by SP Saddar zone and included teams from the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), lady police, and other law enforcement agencies. The initiative was part of a broader effort to enhance security within the federal capital. DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza emphasized the importance of these operations and instructed all zonal officers to continue these measures in their respective areas.
The police also arrested seven individuals during the operation, recovering weapons, ammunition, and a dagger from their possession. The community has been urged to cooperate with police during checks and to report any suspicious activity through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app for immediate response.
