Islamabad, In a major law enforcement operation, the Islamabad Capital Police apprehended 34 individuals, including six professional beggars, over the last 24 hours. The arrests, part of a city-wide crackdown, led to the seizure of significant quantities of drugs and weapons.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, was carried out under the directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. The intensified efforts are aimed at eliminating crime in the city and ensuring public safety.
During these operations, the Aabpara police team arrested Anwar Masih and Waqar Ahmed, recovering 1,230 grams of hashish and 25 liters of alcohol. In a separate incident, Sharon Masih was apprehended for illegally refilling gas cylinders. The Karachi Company police team detained Danish with 155 grams of heroin, while the Sumbal police arrested Ahsan, Abdul Wahid, and Muhammad Altaf for similar gas cylinder offenses and selling petrol.
The Tarnol police team made significant arrests, capturing Muhammad Saleem, Muhammad Safeer, and Sohail Ur Rehman, and confiscating 3,587 grams of heroin. The Sangjani police apprehended Kashif and Asghar with 1,260 grams of hashish, while the Industrial-Area police arrested Danish Shakeel and Saddam, seizing two 30 bore pistols. Other teams made additional arrests, including individuals involved in illegal gas refilling and drug possession.
Moreover, the Phulgram police arrested Adeel Ahmed and Mohsin Shakeel, recovering 815 grams of heroin. The Nilore police detained Naeem Khan and Anjum Khan, confiscating two pistols. The Shahzad Town police team arrested five individuals, Irfan, Hasaam Shahid, Razkan, Hamza Mushtaq, and Rehman Gul, for illegal gas cylinder refilling.
In addition to these arrests, the police also focused on curbing professional begging in the city, arresting six individuals and registering cases under the beggar act.
ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has directed police officials to further intensify their efforts against criminal elements. He emphasized that ensuring the safety and security of citizens is the primary objective of these operations, and no leniency will be shown in maintaining law and order in the city.
