ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to enhance public safety, Islamabad Police have arrested 10 individuals and confiscated an array of drugs and weapons in operations across the federal capital. The crackdown, part of a broader initiative to curb criminal activity, underscores the police’s commitment to protecting citizens’ lives and property.
According to police reports, teams from the Karachi Company, Sumbal, Kirpa, and Lohi Bher police stations apprehended five suspects. The arrests led to the recovery of 275 grams of methamphetamine, 30 bottles of wine, and a pistol with ammunition. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and further investigations are ongoing.
In a parallel campaign targeting absconders and proclaimed offenders, the police successfully detained an additional five criminals. This initiative forms part of a strategic plan to tackle crime through active enforcement and community engagement.
SSP Operations Islamabad emphasized the police force’s dedication to maintaining peace and security in the city. He assured citizens that disrupting the capital’s peace would not be tolerated, reaffirming that the safety of residents is the police’s foremost concern.
The SSP also called on the public to support law enforcement efforts by reporting any suspicious activities. He encouraged citizens to utilize the emergency helpline, Pucar-15, to facilitate prompt response and action, aiming for a collaborative approach to making Islamabad crime-free.
