Islamabad, In a significant initiative to improve road safety, the Islamabad Capital Police have ramped up their efforts through a special traffic education and enforcement campaign. This initiative, following the instructions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, aims to address traffic-related issues and enhance citizen safety on the roads.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the campaign primarily targets underage bikers, rash drivers, and individuals flouting traffic regulations. Under the vigilant supervision of the Chief Traffic Officer of Islamabad, zonal DSPs are orchestrating stringent actions against traffic rule violators.
The Islamabad Capital Police have constituted special squads, tasked with setting up checkpoints at major highways and intersections across Islamabad. These squads are not only enforcing the law but also aiming to educate the public. Through the distribution of pamphlets and leaflets, as well as the efforts of education wing teams, the campaign seeks to raise awareness about road safety norms among commuters.
As a result of these rigorous measures, numerous underage motorcyclists and traffic offenders have been penalized. Additionally, unregistered bikes have been confiscated and are being held at various police stations. The police are also appealing to parents to play a proactive role in this campaign. They are urged to adhere to the law themselves and prevent their minor children from operating cars or motorbikes.
The primary objective of this campaign is to safeguard the lives of citizens by fostering a safer and more disciplined traffic environment. The campaign reflects the Islamabad Capital Police’s commitment to reducing traffic violations and ensuring the safety of all road users.
