Islamabad Police Crack Down on Crime, Arrest 17 Suspects and Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: In a concerted effort to enhance the safety of Islamabad’s residents, the city’s police force has launched a robust crackdown on criminal activities, resulting in the arrest of 17 suspects and the recovery of drugs and weapons.

According to a press release from the Islamabad Capital Police, teams from the Golra, Noon, Koral, Kirpa, Lohi Bher, and Shahzad Town police stations apprehended 11 individuals. During these arrests, law enforcement officers confiscated 761 grams of ice, a form of methamphetamine, and seven pistols along with ammunition.

Legal proceedings have been initiated against the suspects, and investigations are underway. In addition to these arrests, the police have successfully detained six absconders and proclaimed offenders as part of a specialized campaign.

Deputy Inspector General of Islamabad, Muhammad Jawad Tariq, emphasized the police force’s ongoing commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of the city’s residents. He affirmed that no one will be permitted to disrupt the city’s peace, underscoring the priority placed on citizens’ safety and security.

DIG Tariq also encouraged the public to report any suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline 15. He highlighted the importance of collaboration between the police and the community to achieve a crime-free environment in the capital.
