Islamabad Police Conducts Road Safety Workshop for School Students, Educates on Traffic Rules

Islamabad: In a proactive effort to enhance road safety awareness among young students, the Islamabad Police organized a detailed workshop at Islamabad Model College for Girls G-8. The event was part of an initiative directed by Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, focusing on educating participants about traffic rules and road safety measures. The workshop saw active participation from 350 students, who were engaged in learning about the various aspects of road safety.

According to Islamabad Capital Police announcement issued on 20 September 2024, the workshop aimed to instill a sense of responsibility among the students regarding road usage and safety. The Islamabad Police education wing provided comprehensive lectures on the dangers of risky driving, the rights of road users, and the importance of using overhead bridges and zebra crossings. The initiative is part of a broader effort by the police to prepare young citizens for their future roles in society by making them aware of essential traffic regulations and safety practices.

The event was well-received by the attendees, which included school students, teachers, and staff. The teachers and staff at Islamabad Model College for Girls G-8 expressed their appreciation for the Islamabad Police’s efforts in organizing such an educational and necessary workshop. They highlighted the professionalism and organizational skills of the police department in carrying out road safety and security operations.

Senior police officers present at the workshop reiterated the importance of these educational programs and confirmed that these initiatives are conducted under the direct instructions of IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. They also assured that similar workshops would continue to be a part of future plans to ensure widespread awareness and adherence to road safety measures among the younger population.
