Islamabad Police Conduct Extensive Search Operation Across Capital


ISLAMABAD: Over 1,180 individuals were checked in a comprehensive search operation conducted across Islamabad in the past 48 hours, as part of an initiative to curb crime and target criminal elements in the city.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was carried out under the special directives of Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi. The search and combing operations were conducted under the supervision of SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, with monitoring by the respective zonal SPs. The objective of these operations is to tighten the noose around criminal elements and further enhance security across the city.



The operation included checks on 517 households, 32 hotels, 138 shops, 550 motorcycles, and 153 vehicles. During the course of these checks, 67 suspicious individuals and 52 motorcycles were taken to the police station for further verification. Additionally, suspects involved in possessing illegal weapons were arrested, and authorities recovered one rifle, one pistol, and accompanying ammunition.
