ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police held a ceremony at the Police Lines Headquarters to honor 20 officers for their valor as part of “Ghazi Week.” Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi led the event, which included senior officers, the honored ghazis, their families, and numerous police personnel.
The ceremony paid tribute to the sacrifices and bravery of the officers, awarding them Shujaat and Ghazi medals along with certificates of appreciation. Constables Muhammad Akram, Rehan Ali, Taj-ul-Akbar, and Rawal Khan received Shujaat medals. Ghazi medal recipients included Constable Nasir Khan, Head Constable Wasif Hussain, and several others.
Officers awarded the Shujaat medal were also given Rs. 200,000, while those receiving the Ghazi medal were given Rs. 100,000 in addition to their certificates.
IGP Rizvi emphasized the significance of the ghazis’ contributions, noting 131 officers have been recognized for standing firm in their duties and sustaining injuries. He highlighted the nation’s respect for their courage and the sacrifices made by their families.
Rizvi expressed deep pride in the officers, acknowledging the unwavering support from their families and their readiness to face danger for the nation’s sake. He concluded by saluting the families and the entire police force for nurturing such courage and dedication.
