Islamabad Police Arrests 24 Suspects Amid Crackdown on Crime


ISLAMABAD: In a concerted effort to curb criminal activities, Islamabad Police have arrested 24 individuals over the past 24 hours. The arrests were made by various police stations including Ramna, Shalimar, Tarnol, Shams Colony, Kirpa, Sihala, and Shahzad Town.



The police teams apprehended 18 suspects involved in crimes such as drug peddling and illegal possession of weapons. During the operations, law enforcement officials confiscated 2,718 grams of heroin, 1,235 grams of hashish, 90 pills, 20 wine bottles, and 10 pistols with ammunition.



Additionally, as part of a targeted campaign to detain proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams succeeded in arresting six more criminals. Legal proceedings have commenced against those apprehended, and investigations are currently underway.



These actions come in response to directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing a robust crackdown on crime to maintain peace in the federal capital.



The police reaffirmed their dedication to safeguarding lives and properties, stating that they will not tolerate any disruptions to public peace. Authorities also encourage citizens to report any suspicious activities to their local police station or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to help eliminate crime through community cooperation.
