Islamabad, In a significant breakthrough, the Sumbal police station and Homicide Unit of the Islamabad Capital Police have apprehended three individuals implicated in a murder and snatching case. The successful operation led to the recovery of cash, a mobile phone, a motorbike, and the weapons used in the crime.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the case began with a distressing incident reported on January 1, 2024. A citizen from Mera Jaffar filed a complaint at the Sumbal police station, revealing a tragic occurrence. The complainant and his brother-in-law were victims of an armed robbery, during which cash and mobile phones were forcefully taken. When the brother-in-law resisted, the robbers shot him, resulting in his immediate death at the scene.
Acting swiftly, the Sumbal police registered FIR No. 08/24 and constituted a special investigation team to handle the case. Utilizing a combination of technical and scientific methods, the police team successfully tracked down and arrested the three suspects: Kamal, Rehman Gohar, and Hassan Bashir. Along with the arrests, the authorities recovered the items snatched during the crime and the weapons used by the perpetrators. The police are continuing their investigation to possibly uncover more details of the case.
Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO), has issued stern directives to all senior officials to ramp up efforts against those involved in criminal activities. He emphasized that the Islamabad Capital Police maintain a zero-tolerance policy against violence and crimes and assured that strict legal action would be taken against the culprits.
Dr. Khan commended the efficiency and effectiveness of the police teams involved in the operation. He further instructed all officers to intensify their crackdown against criminal elements, reiterating the commitment of the police force to prioritize the safety and security of the citizens. He underscored that no compromises would be made when it comes to protecting the public and maintaining law and order.
