Islamabad: In a significant crackdown on criminal activity, the Lohi Bher police team successfully apprehended a wanted member of a notorious snatching gang, recovering a cache of stolen items including mobile phones, cash, a laptop, a motorbike, and a weapon.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was part of a city-wide initiative led by Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to intensify efforts against crime in the capital. The arrested individual, identified as Zeeshan Haider, was found in possession of goods reported stolen in various snatching incidents around Islamabad. The police have registered a case against Haider, and he is currently under investigation, during which he has reportedly confessed to multiple snatching offenses.
DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, has directed all senior officials to enhance their measures in combating criminal elements. The police force’s successful use of both technical and human intelligence in this case marks a significant achievement in their ongoing efforts to secure the city. Additionally, the public is encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities through the “Pucar-15” emergency helpline or the “ICT-15” app to assist in maintaining public safety.
