Islamabad Police Arrest Key Accused in Robbery and Murder Cases.

Islamabad: Islamabad Police have successfully apprehended key suspects involved in recent robbery and murder cases.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, SSP Operations/Investigation Islamabad, Muhammad Arsalan Shahzaib, along with senior police officers, announced the arrests during a press conference at the Rescue-15 office.

In the briefing, Shahzaib disclosed that four armed individuals had recently committed a robbery at a mobile shop located within the jurisdiction of the Secretariat police station. Additionally, an elderly man was discovered with his throat slit in the Bhara Kahu Police Station area. These incidents prompted Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, to take immediate action by forming specialized police teams. These teams, led by SSP Operations/Investigation under the supervision of DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza, worked diligently to resolve the cases.

The police teams employed modern investigative techniques to track down and arrest the four accused involved in the robbery at the Bari Imam market mobile shop within 48 hours. The suspects were identified as Faisal, Shabbir, Ghulam Abbas, and Muhammad Faraz. Authorities recovered weapons utilized in the crime, including a Kalashnikov, a 55 bore rifle, an M-16 style pistol, two 30 bore pistols, and the motorcycles used in the heist. Additionally, the stolen money was retrieved, and further investigations revealed other criminal activities linked to these individuals, with legal proceedings already underway.

Furthermore, on November 3, 2024, the body of an elderly man was found with his throat slit in the Bhara Kahu area. Police promptly initiated an investigation using both human and technical resources. The team succeeded in arresting two suspects, Amanullah and Riasat Abbasi, who confessed to murdering the elderly man in an attempt to steal his money.

SSP Operations/Investigation reiterated Islamabad Police’s commitment to safeguarding citizens’ lives and property. He noted a noticeable decline in crime rates in Islamabad and emphasized the force’s dedication to further enhancing security in the city.
