Islamabad Police Arrest Dacoit Gang; Recover Looted Items and Weapons

Islamabad: In a significant crackdown on criminal activity, the Islamabad Police Anti Robbery and Dacoity Unit (ARDU) has successfully apprehended three members of a notorious dacoit gang. The suspects were involved in a series of robberies targeting petrol pumps and engaging in snatchings across the city.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was conducted under the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aiming to enhance security and reduce crime rates in the area. The ARDU team utilized both technical and human resources to locate and arrest the suspects identified as Muhammad Awais, Musaib Qamar, and Jahangir. Items recovered from the gang included stolen cash, mobile phones, a motorbike, and the weapons used in their crimes.

During the preliminary investigations, the accused confessed to their involvement in multiple criminal activities across the twin cities. The police have registered cases against them in various stations, and further investigations are ongoing to ascertain the full extent of their operations.

DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza emphasized the commitment of the Islamabad Capital Police to safeguarding the public and ensuring that criminal elements are unable to disrupt community peace. He also encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app.
