ISLAMABAD: In a recent crackdown on criminal activities, Islamabad police have apprehended 33 individuals suspected of various crimes, while also recovering drugs and weapons. The arrests were made by teams from several police stations, including Karachi Company, Tarnol, Koral, Bani Gala, Aabpara, Khanna, Sangjani, and Lohi Bher.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation led to the arrest of 15 suspects involved in different criminal activities. The police confiscated 640 grams of ice (crystal methamphetamine), 20 bottles of liquor, and nine pistols with ammunition from those arrested. Legal cases have been filed against the suspects, and further investigations are underway.
Additionally, as part of a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams successfully detained 18 more individuals. This operation aligns with directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasizing a stringent approach to combatting crime in the federal capital.
During a statement, Senior Superintendent of Police Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, reiterated the police force’s commitment to safeguarding residents’ lives and property. The ongoing efforts aim to maintain public peace, with citizens encouraged to report any suspicious activities through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” to facilitate joint crime-fighting efforts between the police and the community.
