Islamabad: The Islamabad Police apprehended 31 individuals over the last 24 hours, recovering drugs, weapons, and ammunition from their possession.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, this operation follows special directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi to intensify the crackdown on criminal elements to eliminate crime in the city.
The Aabpara police team arrested Muhammad Tariq, recovering 1720 grams of heroin. The Secretariat police team apprehended Shuja, recovering a dagger, while the Shalimar police team arrested Muhammad Waseem and seized a 12-bore rifle.
In Tarnol, Muhammad Ramiz was arrested with 20 liters of liquor. The Sangjani police team detained Khaista Gull, finding 120 grams of heroin. Noon Police arrested Muhammad Asif, recovering a 30-bore pistol.
The Sumbal police team arrested three individuals, Gulaly, Zakir Ullah, and Hazrat Ullah, each found with 30-bore pistols. Muhammad Nadeem and Zeeshan were apprehended for illegally selling petrol. The Sabzi Mandi police team arrested Ali and Saleem, recovering two 30-bore pistols, while Wali Ur Rehman was detained for illegally refilling a gas cylinder.
Additionally, Shams Colony police arrested Muhammad Yousaf, recovering a dagger. The Koral police team detained Umair for illegally selling petrol, and the Humak police team arrested Saddam Hussain, Bilal Hussain, and Ali Hussain, recovering two 30-bore pistols and 510 grams of heroin.
Cases have been registered against the suspects, and further investigations are underway. During the crackdown, Islamabad Police teams also arrested 13 proclaimed offenders and absconders from various areas of the city.
DIG Islamabad Syed Ali Raza directed police officials to intensify efforts against criminal elements, emphasizing that the safety and security of citizens is the foremost priority, and no laxity will be tolerated.
Citizens are urged to cooperate with the police and report any suspicious activity or information through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or the “ICT-15” app for immediate assistance.
