Islamabad Police Arrest 28 Criminals, Recover Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, Islamabad Police have arrested 28 individuals involved in various offenses, including drug peddling and illegal possession of weapons. The operation led to the seizure of drugs and an array of weapons, highlighting the ongoing efforts to enhance safety and security in the region.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests and seizures were the result of coordinated actions by police teams from several stations across the city, including Sangjani, Khanna, Koral, Bani Gala, Golra, Sihala, Humak, Bhara Kahu, and Phulgran. These teams focused on individuals accused of drug peddling and possessing illegal weapons, which culminated in the apprehension of six drug dealers. Police also confiscated over 10 liters of liquor, 1140 grams of hashish, 3167 grams of heroin, ten 30 bore pistols, and one dagger.

The operation also led to the arrest of 11 absconders over the last 24 hours, further emphasizing the police’s commitment to curbing crime rates in Islamabad. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, emphasized that the safety of citizens and their property remains a top priority for the force. He assured that the police would not allow any disruptive elements to compromise the peace of the community.

IGP Rizvi also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police. Citizens can contact their local police station, use the emergency helpline “Pukar-15,” or the “ICT 15” app to alert authorities, fostering a cooperative effort to maintain a crime-free environment in Islamabad.
