Islamabad Police Arrest 26 Suspects, Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad: In a major crackdown on criminal activities, the Islamabad Police have arrested 26 individuals and seized a significant quantity of illegal drugs and weapons across various police precincts in the city. The operation was conducted by teams from the Secretariat, Shalimar, Tarnol, Sangjani, Industrial Area, Sabzi Mandi, Noon, Khanna, Humak, and Shahzad Town police stations.

The police recovered 5,594 grams of heroin, 5,886 grams of hashish, 332 grams of ice, 30 bottles of liquor, and eight pistols with ammunition from the suspects. These arrests and seizures are part of an ongoing initiative to curb crime and ensure safety in the capital.

Additionally, a special campaign targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders resulted in the arrest of three more criminals. Cases have been registered against all the accused, and investigations are currently underway.

The operation follows directives from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, aimed at maintaining peace and security in the federal capital. The police emphasized their commitment to safeguarding residents’ lives and property and declared that no disruptions to public peace would be tolerated.

Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activities to local police stations or through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15.” The Islamabad Police stressed that community cooperation is vital to eradicating crime and ensuring a peaceful society.
