Islamabad Police Arrest 24, Seize Drugs and Weapons


ISLAMABAD: In a series of operations targeting criminal activities, the Islamabad Police have apprehended 24 individuals and seized a cache of drugs and weapons. The arrests are part of an ongoing effort to maintain order in the federal capital.



According to Islamabad Capital Police, 18 suspects were detained for various criminal offenses, resulting in the confiscation of 640 grams of the drug known as ice, one gun, and 14 pistols with ammunition. Authorities have registered cases against those arrested, with investigations underway to uncover further details.



In a separate initiative focused on capturing proclaimed offenders and absconders, police arrested an additional six individuals. These efforts align with directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has instructed forceful measures against crime to sustain peace and security in the area.



Suleman Zafar, SSP Security Operations Islamabad, emphasized the police’s commitment to safeguarding residents’ lives and properties. He stressed that maintaining public peace is paramount for the police force.



The police have also called on citizens to actively report any suspicious activities by contacting local stations or using the emergency helpline “Pucar-15,” highlighting the importance of community cooperation in the fight against crime.
