ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have detained 22 individuals in a series of operations, resulting in the confiscation of drugs and weapons, law enforcement officials announced. Authorities reported that the arrests are part of a broader initiative to combat criminal activities in the capital city.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, eight suspects were arrested for their involvement in various criminal activities. The police recovered 1,025 grams of hashish, 552 grams of ice, 10 bottles of liquor, and five pistols with ammunition from the suspects’ possession. Formal charges have been filed, and investigations are underway.
In a concurrent operation targeting proclaimed offenders and absconders, police teams apprehended 14 additional suspects. These efforts align with directives from Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, who has emphasized a rigorous crackdown on crime to maintain security and order in the city.
SSP Operations Islamabad, Qazi Ali Raza, reiterated the police’s commitment to safeguarding citizens and their property, ensuring that no disturbances to public peace will be tolerated. Islamabad Police encourage residents to report suspicious activities directly to local police stations or via the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” for effective crime prevention through community collaboration.
