Islamabad Police Arrest 22 Outlaws, Seize Drugs and Weapons

Islamabad, The Islamabad Capital Police have successfully detained 22 individuals, including six professional beggars, across various districts of the city in a robust 24-hour operation. The arrests led to the seizure of a significant amount of drugs and several weapons, marking a major stride in the local law enforcement’s efforts to cleanse the city of criminal activities.

According to Islamabad Capital Police, the operation was carried out under the explicit instructions of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. The crackdown aimed at eliminating crime has seen varied success across different precincts. Notably, the Karachi Company police team apprehended Munir Ahmed with 480 grams of hashish. In similar targeted actions, the Golra and Sangjani police teams arrested Manan Jameel and Irshad Ahmed respectively, both for illegally refilling gas.

Further successes included the arrest of Altaf Hussain by the Industrial Area police team, who was found in possession of a 30 bore pistol. The Shams Colony police team detained Dost Muhammad and Nadeem Khan, recovering an iron punch and 1,110 grams of hashish. Additionally, the Khanna police arrested Azhar with an iron punch, alongside Nasrullah and Muhammad Sher for illegal petrol selling and gas refilling.

The Humak police’s efforts led to the arrest of Abid Ali and Nasir Ali, from whom a 30 bore pistol and 307 grams of heroin were seized. The Nilore police apprehended Ghulam Hussain with a 12 bore gun. The Bani Gala police team’s operation resulted in the capture of Muhammad Sarfraz and Shakeel, alongside Tasawar Hussain and Shahid Rehman, culminating in the seizure of 380 grams of heroin and 25 liters of liquor, in addition to tackling illegal petrol and gas refilling activities.

The ongoing crackdown also targeted professional beggars, resulting in the apprehension of six individuals, as part of the broader initiative to address various forms of street crimes.

ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has commended the efforts of the police force and emphasized the importance of intensifying the crackdown against criminal elements to ensure the safety and security of the citizens of Islamabad. He asserted that maintaining public safety is a paramount concern, and the police force will continue its vigilant efforts without compromise.
