Islamabad, The Islamabad Capital Police have apprehended 22 outlaws, including eight gamblers, across various areas of the city in a crackdown against criminal activities.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were made in the last 24 hours, under the guidance of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan. The police recovered cash, gambling tools, drugs, and weapons from the possession of the arrested individuals.
The Aabpara police team detained an individual named Usama Bin Akhtar and confiscated a 30 bore pistol. Secretariat police apprehended Liyaqat and Muhammad Aqeel for illegally selling petrol. Another team from Shalimar police station arrested Javed Khan, seizing 123 grams of heroin. The Ramna police team apprehended Zahid Khan, Aamir Alam, and Abdul Wahab, recovering three 30 bore pistols. The Sangjani police arrested Abdullah and Siraj Ud Deen, finding 1068 grams of hashish and 595 grams of heroin, and another accused, Muhammad Shahid, for illegal petrol sale.
Additionally, the Shams Colony police detained Hazeem with 525 grams of hashish, while the Noon police team arrested Yasir, confiscating a 30 bore pistol. The Bani Gala police arrested Taj Muhammad, Saeed Khan, and Saqib, recovering 1270 grams of hashish, 330 grams of heroin, and a firearm.
A joint operation by Phulgran and Shahzad Town police teams led to a raid on a gambling den, where eight gamblers were caught red-handed. The arrested include Nazakat Hussain, Azkar Hussain, Shah Zaib, Wasif Hussain, Muhammad Shahzad, Shakeel Ahmed, Abdul Waheed, Dewan, and Zulfiqar.
Cases against all apprehended suspects are registered, and further investigations are ongoing. ICCPO Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has instructed the police to intensify efforts against criminal elements, emphasizing the safety and security of citizens as a top priority.
