Islamabad, In a significant crackdown on criminal activities, the Islamabad Capital Police have arrested 21 individuals, including drug peddlers and professional beggars, seizing drugs and weapons in various operations across the city over the last 24 hours. This action is part of a broader initiative to cleanse the city of illegal activities and ensure public safety.
According to Islamabad Capital Police, the arrests were made following the directives of Islamabad Capital City Police Officer (ICCPO) Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan, aiming to eradicate crime and maintain law and order in the capital. The police teams conducted coordinated operations, leading to the apprehension of suspects involved in various illegal activities, including drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms.
During these operations, the police teams managed to recover significant quantities of narcotics, including heroin, hashish, and wine, along with several firearms. Notably, individuals like Ahmed Ali, Omolade Sarah, and Abid Mehmood were among those arrested, found with illegal possessions signaling a rigorous enforcement action against those undermining the city’s safety and security.
The crackdown also targeted professional beggars, resulting in the arrest of four individuals, with cases registered under the relevant act. These efforts underscore the Islamabad police’s commitment to enhancing the security environment and addressing the concerns of the residents.
The senior police officials have directed for an intensified continuation of the crackdown, emphasizing the importance of citizen safety and zero tolerance for criminal behavior.
